How hard is it to put a locker in a 3:73 rear?

Okay , I have a 2024 Bighorn 2500 crew with 8k miles. So far I've changed the factory wheels and tires, added an MBRP lifetime exhaust, had it undercoated and a spray in bed liner added, put rear wheel liners in along with mud flaps and some side steps and today I realized that there's two things I should have added right away and one I should have insisted on when I bought it.
It was -7 this morning when I had to take the kids to school ( Their my Amish neighbors). A block heater seems in order. I had to drive up a steep driveway with over a foot of unplowed snow and 1/2 way up the anti slip (yuk yuk) rear end started slipping and hoping all over the place so I threw it in neutral and dropped it into 4 lo. It hopped a little but I backed off the gas and it walked right up. I've heard a lot of horror stories about Ram's anti slip rears. I ordered a Bilstein anti hop kit today and hopefully that cures that problem but I feel like I dropped the ball not getting at least a rear locker. I've heard they're not easy to install so I'll be calling a few shops and maybe a dealer to price one out.
