Congrats! I recall buying my first new, 'custom ordered' truck (a 1989 Ford F-150) for $12,000 and thinking it was a LOT of money. Think I had a 4 year loan on that and paid it off a bit early. (Threw an extra $25 per month on the payments.) Got a 2000 Dodge Quad Cab with the 360 magnum engine (which would pass anything except a gas station) for $25k, and thought, "Wow...price doubled in about 11 years..." Drove that for 17 odd years; also paid that off a bit early by upping my monthly payment by $40 or so. I bought a slightly used (8300 miles) 2016 Ram EcoDiesel from the owner of our local CDJR dealership in 2018 and had nothing but problems with it, so after a year dumped it for essentially the same truck but with a 5.7 Hemi and a full trailer-tow package. THAT was $41k! I got an 8-year loan on that but paid it off in less than 4 years, and still have it. Just turned over 94,000 miles and might be doing some horse-trading with a gal at our church for her late husband's 2019 Ram 3/4 ton with the 6.4 Hemi and 40,000 miles on it. (We bought a small 5th wheel RV and while CGVW is slightly below the max, I'm thinking a 3/4 ton might be a better.) I don't even dare to 'build and price' a new 3/4 ton; I can be almost certain a good chunk of our 'kid's inheritance' would '****!' vanish in a moment!
