I know there are door spears or body side moldings for the Ram but they are expensive, any alternatives or maybe something cheaper.. I looked around and 200.00 + for door spears/moldings seems kinda high. I need to get something there are about 8 dings in my doors. It seems people are in too much of a hurry or just so fat that they need to swing the door all the way open and into my nice shiny paint.
I have looked on craigslist with no luck as of yet.. I have a 2006 would the spears from any 3rd gen work?

Im also looking at some paintless dent repair options for the door dings if anyone has suggestions or past experience.

Yeah, any spears for a 3rd gen will work...you can probably hit up a pick and pull and just take some fishing line with you and take them off a truck out there. Just remember some are longer than others depending on cab configuration.

But honestly, door spears look they would help with you not getting door dings, but they really don't. I have them on my truck and I get door dings still. They would need to be further up the door to work ideally.

It all depends on the height of your truck and that of what's parked next to you. And the shape of their doors. My wife doesn't like going anywhere with me because I park as far away as possible if there's empty spots.

really ghetto style, but i saw this at the gym. a guy took a pool noodle and cut it in half, the epoxied little magnet strips on to it, and every time he got out of the car in a parking lot he through them on the door. i don't know if this is what you were thinking, but hes is a thought

I find that my nerf bars keep a lot of doors from hitting my doors. All depends on the car next to me though.

I get handicap parking though, so if I can get one of those spots, they are usually nice and wide.

I was thinking of getting something like this Auto Moldings - Trim-Gard

They offer it painted but I dont see my flame red pr4 color listed, although I could always just go with black. I think I will also visit local pick-n-pull and see what they have.

Yea- I'm the same way- park very far away from everyone... A further walk doesn't hurt and the walk back gives me more time to look at (admire) my truck...

I park far away too and inevitably I come back to find someone parked in the next spot.. Burns me up, are people so programmed or do they do it on purpose??
