Has anyone successfully used Eagle or later 3 pin coil packs on the pre eagle engine with stock ignition control?

They're not eagle coil packs lol. They were first used on the 2005 6.1. They used to be referred to as '6.1 coil packs' then eventually became '06+ coil packs' because all hemis after 2006 used them. All you need are the 2006-08 valve covers (eagle ones will work, but they have bulges for valve clearance you don't need unless running eagle heads), the coil packs and some pigtail adapters (saves you from hacking up the harness). Looks like this:

Is upgrading to the dual plug coil over the setup on the 03 - 05 worth it? Is there any benefit aside from a cleaner engine and no plug wires?

That's basically it.
