I purchased/installed these ebay tube steps right before winter. After a few weeks, the steps bent down from their original position because the steps attatch to the pinch welds with only one point. Name brand units use secondary mount points.
When the step bar mounting points bent from stepping on them, the step angkes the wrong way, have very poor grip on the steps, and are dangerous.
When i was getting out of my truck yeaterday the steps were wet and angled the wrong way, and i fell. Also after just one winter, the powder coating near every weld on the bars is rusting. I do not reccomend these steps at all. If money is tight for you, I reccomend buying used stock steps off craigslist.

My leg is already broken! Had surgery and plates/screws put in about 5 weeks ago. Haha. But in all seriousness, the steps are a cheap design and powder coating is improperly done.

That’s why I bought the AMP powersteps on this truck, wanted a wide stable non slippery step. They are $$ but it’s something we use every single day

Shameful product. Thank you for the heads up. Just went out and looked at our 18 2500 crew cab. There are 6 holes thru the pinch weld below the doors. Can see how some companies would use them to mount their step.

Its actually ok to mount steps to the holes in the pinch welds, but the brackets flex because of the poor design and lavk of gusset plates. So they bend down. I thought about welding on extra gusset plates, but its not worth the time since they are already rusting.
JB1 im gonna start saving for the AMP. Thats one product that is worth the cost.
