I put some 35" Yokohama Geolander A/T's on my 2019 Laramie. Also, lifted it by 6" with a suspension lift from Zone Offroad. My gas mileage has gone down about 3MPG... but I am fine with it. Certainly a bigger and heavier tire than factory....But, this is how a truck should be IMO. I am tired of the EPA, out of control gas prices, and the auto industry falling prey to the global warming scam. Maybe I will go to 37" tires next time? But that means I will have to give up my factory rims which I truly do love. Just looking at it from a technical viewpoint, your numbers will change when you alter the original specs, and this is not just your MPG efficiency either. You made a good choice putting A/T's on your rig. Don't stress about it...

On my new Frontier wentg from the 'as delivered' Michelin LTX highway tread tires ( average mpg a 20.8) to a set of Discount Patherfinder A/T tires, same size etc. and now showing 21.6 mpg. Somewhat of a surprise I guess. Had Pathfinders on a RAM before and actually got better mileage. Have no idea why just know I do get better mileage with the Pathfinders. Hummm????

On my ram i bought 4 new cooper discovers and also changed size..My coopers are a 55 20 but are the same diameter as the good years..5lb each heavier so its more rotational mass rite off the get go..Harder on brakes to slow and gas to speed up..Best with originals was 22mpg (almost worn out)and with only a few thou on my coopers anywhere between 17(when playin a lil)and 20(being super ***** mode)..

Doesnt matter what you buy,you will not get better mpg for awhile..Your gonna loose....
Just put 10 new tires the very same make but in a winter for my 18...New tires, colder temps, winter fuel and my best bobtailin was 13.4mpg and loaded would be 10...Now with 10 new winters on the colder temps and winter fuel i can do about 12 bobtail and struggle to keep 8.8 loaded approx 2 weeks later.

Oh yeah it makes a diff..

So right at 20k those awful stock Goodyear 22s gave up the ghost. I swapped them for a set of Firestone AT/2s - I wanted something that could handle more than an inch of snow and these are rated to do so.

What I didn’t consider was the effect on gas mileage. I‘ve done 5k on them and it’s consistently 2mpg less with the new tires. I did two long trips to roughly the same area along the same highways and it went from 19.5mpg to 17.5mpg just with a change of tire.

I never saw that much difference before on a tire change. Anyone else see similar results?
You were getting 19.5 miles to the gallon? I have the V6 eTorque in my 2021 Rebel I get between 14 and 16. I would love to average 19. Even if the sticker says I should get 19 to 24.
Funny thing, sales people tout the mileage rating, service department says It’s just silly number they put there and we should know it’s a lie.

I know that has nothing to do with tires I just filled the 33 gal tank and feel whiny this morning. Sorry.

More tire, more weight each wheel, more rolling resistance. Physics, gonna lose a lil. On MY 19, The SRA's (OEM) were 13-22 City/Hwy. I got rid of the rolling balloons and went with "C" Rated AT3W Falken Wildpeaks (12-21 mpg city/hwy) (usually some number in-between). A lot more "rubber" meets the road, aggressive tread, etc. I lost 1 to 1 1/2 MPG. But more than worth it to have a Pretty Decent Tire on the truck that doesn't throw truck into a 180 spin on wet roads, just saying, all IMHO...

LT tires will get notable less MPG then P series.
Unless really towing/carrying all the time, P series is just fine.

Mine didn't change much maybe a 0.5-1 mpg difference When I went from the SRA's to my old Nittos and then My Toyos.

If you bought the Firestone Transforce AT tires you are not going to be a happy camper when you get into the snow. That is what came on my 2021 2500. They where the $350 upgrade off road tires wit h the off road package. Worst tire I ever used in mud or snow. Changed them to Duratracs with less than 3000 miles on the Firestones. I could not keep the truck on the road at anything over 5 mph in mud with the Firestones. They are a pavement only tire for sure and should be designated AP, All Pavement, never AT. Anyone that puts them on a 4x4 for off road use is going to be REALLY unhappy.

The Firestones where quiet, didn't throw rocks on gravel but sucked for traction. The Duratracs, despite being a FAR more aggressive tread, are the same stock 275-70-18 size and actually get a couple of MPG better mileage than the Firestones did.
