Hi!
I have a 2013 Ram 1500, Longhorn** (all the options) and it's a 5.7L
Anyway, about 2 months ago, I would get in to start the truck, and upon pushing the button I would just get the dead 'click'....just like a dead battery. I would have to cycle the truck on and off a few times and then it would start.
replaced key-fob battery...problem went away, at least I thought.
A while later, I get stranded in a parking lot, put the keyfob up to the button, and it just click. Can do this 20 times or so and finally the truck will start....
This is getting a bit scary, this morning I was 30 min late to work because my truck decided it didnt want to start.
What I'm doing about it currently?
- new battery, was installed a month ago. made no difference
- ordered 2 new key fobs....although now it's looking like another root source
- i took out the win module / button and sprayed it with compressed air....and it actually did start for a few days no issues
- need to consider maybe a brake pedal switch? maybe the starter, itself is sticking?
any comments/ help is appreciated!
