hi everyone i have a question on my dodge ram 1500 v6 i have been wanting to make this a prerunner but instead of starting with the exterior like most people do i want to start out by getting the speed i am new to upgrading my engine so is there any parts i should get to give my truck speed i have around a 5000-7000 spending cash for now but for the most part i want an all around fast truck for speed on street and on desert i have so far just a flow master exhaust and 285/70/17 tires thanks for anyone with any info on what parts i should get!

Not sure how many performance parts are out there for the 3.7. When i had my 3.7, i never bothered to mod it. Wasn't worth it to me. Having said that, you could...
1. Sell your truck, pick up an old hemi (03-05) and go from there..or...
2. Keep the v6, do CAI, exhaust, throttle body, long tube headers, gears, tuner..maybe even a turbo setup or supercharger if they offer them for v6's

But honestly, in my opinion, you'd be much more satisfied starting with the power of a hemi.

I would just look at a few easy bolt ons and a tune. The V6 isn't totally gutless. There are plenty of reasons to mod what you already own. Just don't ever expect to get any money back if you ever sell it. That holds true no matter what you mod.

One of my buddies had pretty decent luck out of bolt ons on his V6. I'd mod one.

They used to make a blower kit for the 3.7, it was discontinued because the ring lands on the stock pistons are too high and were breaking under boost. With the 3.7, you can get head work done, bigger TB, better exhaust and intake, custom cams, bigger injectors and custom tuning (pretty much anything you can do to a 4.7 you can do to a 3.7, same engine family); even with all of that, you still won't approach the power level of a stock hemi.

Take the truck and money and buy yourself a Hemi!!! Better platform for modding.
