Hello....I have been lurking for a while. Traded in my 14 1500 for an 18 2500 Laramie a few months back. I have a 31 ft camper that I want to pull. It is around 5100 lbs dry. Obviously no issue to pull with the 2500! :)

I have an equalizer wdh setup that I used with the 1500. Worked excellent. I am wondering if anyone else has a similar setup....hitch, truck, etc. I am wondering how much drop I might need. Doesn't look like you can get an equalizer shank with a lot of drop. My camper is not at my house yet, so I can't look! I did hook up my open car trailer and it was like a tent with no drop ball. LOL.

Thanks.

The trailer model matters a lot, because coupler heights vary. I ended up buying the 2.5(so I didn’t need that stupid adapter sleeve) with a 6” drop. Only needed 4” of drop

It is a 2015 Keystone Bullet 272bhs. I need to go get it and measure the height when it is level. Just need to figure out how to move it!

Equalizer has a worksheet somewhere on their website to figure out the drop you need. All you really need from the trailer is the coupler height measurement when it’s level. I can’t remember if it’s the top or bottom of the coupler.

That trailer might be around 20 or 21 inches to the top of the coupler.

It's pretty close to the same specs as my Keystone Hideout.

5100 pounds dry for a 32’ camper?! Dang, my 28’ is 7000 empty.

I use an Equalizer hitch with my 2500 power wagon. I cant remember the size of the drop shank, but I do know its as low as it can go, and the ball is still just about level with the reese hitch tube opening (trailer frame/tongue is apparently quite tall -up over my knee anyway).

I can snag some numbers if it would help you at all. But really, all it depends on is your truck height and your trailer height... not mine.
