just got a 2014 5.7, the first thing id like to do is get a few more hp and give it a nice sound.

I'm thinking cold air intake and exhaust system, what are my options for quality without breaking the bank?

If you browse through the forum you'll get a ton of good info. I personally have the 18" magnaflow. Would highly recommend it. I started with the Vararam and now have the Mopar after-market CAI. I would highly reccomend both. However, the Mopar CAI is nowhere near cheap. I'd recommend Vararam if money is a concern and you still want a quality product.

There are a million different set ups you could run, but I'm extremely happy with mine right now and I put at least 30 miles a day on my truck.

Exhaust; if you want it loud remove the muffler and resonators. Nothing cheaper than a few pieces of pipe welded in to replace them. But you may lose some low end. For the CAI there are a lot of options.

I really love the Magnaflow sound, as well as the quality. I replaced my stock muffler with the 18" version.... it is straight though 3" in and 2x2.5" out....and it cost me about $90.

Sounds great and will last as long as I have the truck.

this is the ****** thing about a new truck, and i guess the fun part. I want to do so much stuff to it, and i dont know where to get started.

so far I'm thinkin a magnaflow exhaust with a vararum CAI.
next im lookin at a 6 in sus lift, maybe from rough country, with 35s
i'd also like to do some tinting and maybe different headlights.

so much to do....

I recommend the 18" Magnaflow. I have the Mufflex 18 Magnaflow on my Ram, I like how its a direct fit and its pretty easy to replace. For an intake I went with the S&B.

I'm in the same boat... after doing all of the reading and research on here, I'll go with the 18" Magnaflow and an S&B intake. From what I gather, and for my general purposes, this seems to be the best set up. Looking at roughly $450-$500 for both installed.

I went with 18" magnaflow at first. Was pretty happy then wanted a bit louder, took out the resonators and found it alot better. Couple months later added some 18" long tips and I was impressed. Magnaflow for sure

Check out moe's site, they are a forum sponsor and you will find the mufflex muffler kits in their exhaust section!

Magnaflow isn't going to give you a whole lot louder of a noise - It will be more tone. If you want louder go with a smaller muffler..like a cherry bomb extreme or a flowmaster 10 series..removing the stupid resonators definitely make a big difference too

I'm another satisfied 18" Magnaflow owner. Great tone without being stupid loud.
