Every now and then, I turn the key on my 15 1500 and it cranks really fast and doesn't start. I try it a few times and it starts and seems almost like it's flooded. I give it some gas and it idles fine after that. Seems to do this when it sits for a day or two. No idiot lights on. Is this a known issue?

This is not a problem that affects a large number of trucks. Some proper diagnostics will identify what is causing the issue.

If this issue occurs after the truck has been sitting for a day or two the first thing I would do is connect a fuel pressure gauge and connect it before you turn the key for the first time. This way you can see what the fuel pump and fuel pressure are doing when you turn the key. If the key-on fuel pressure is below spec or the cranking fuel pressure is down you will be able to see it.

Will there be a code? I could stop by a auto parts store and check it out

When you say it cranks "really fast", could it be that only the starter motor is turning and not the engine?

No power to the starter solenoid or a defective starter solenoid (Bendix gear) would cause this condition.

I 5hinknits that there's no fuel at the injectors if it sits a couple days. I'll crank it for five or so seconds and if it doesn't start I'll tap the gas peddle and it starts.

A quick check is to cycle the key on and off a few times before actually cranking the engine. That will prime the fuel system. Basically when you first turn the key on, but not crank the engine, the fuel pump will run for a few seconds to pressurize the system. Normally the fuel lines are full of fuel and it only takes a second to bring up the fuel to the proper pressure. But if the system is bleeding off that initial second or two is not enough, but if you do a few key on/key off cycles it runs the fuel pump several times and can pressurize the system.

So what may be the possible problem if this is happening? Where is it bleeding from?
