I have 22 X 10 and have been very happy with Yokohama Spec X. I've put them on other vehicles I have also. Like them that much.

I went with Michelin Defenders from Costco and really like the looks and superb handling in all weather. Snow traction is marginal but my Ram is also not 4x4 and we only get snow a couple times a year. I got 75,000+ miles from last two sets on an F-150 and expect to get similar on the Ram. I have not been impressed with the Goodyear Wranglers that came stock on the truck. As they age wet weather traction stops quickly and they wear out faster than the Michelin’s.

I have run for 4yrs the cooper discoverer h/t plus 20 and love em,they wear slowly and still have tons of life left and they are pretty decent in the snow-not a snow tire by any means-and I don't do burn outs -just the occasional chirp -its hard not to with the hemi if you know what I mean.

Hated the stock Goodyear's that came with the truck and waited until I had 22K on them before they were ditched. I am running the Hankook DynaPro ATM and have been very happy. I already have 12K on them and they look brand new. Rotate with each oil change at 5K and alignment once a year. Excellent in snow, very quiet ride all year in all conditions. Working great for me. Surprised I don't see more reviews on this set of boots...

Just got these beauties. General Grabber APT. It is in between an H/T and A/T. Only had them a few days but the ride is like night and day from the OEM SR-A. Almost silent even at higher speeds and feel like there is less rolling resistance as well. Like I said only been a few days but really happy with my purchase.

After almost 2 yrs, I wanted to revive this thread as I'm "finally" ready to make the switch. I now have ~38K miles on my truck and still running the 17" stockers, but they're getting worn. I've had one of them repaired with a patch on the inside from a screw picked up somewhere. The 20" wheels are in the garage and ready to go.

So, reading back what was discussed. While I am a street 2wd driver, I do occasionally drive on the beach @ Daytona/New Smyrna, and I go to Michigan 2-3 times a yr. Not really in the winter, but do go in November for deer season and it has had the first snow sometimes when I'm ready to come home.

So, I guess a A/T would be best, and these two seem most popular with those that have responded:

https://www.discounttiredirect.com/buy-tires/general-grabber-hts60

Of these 2, the Cooper is less costly, so the fave right now. Anyone have more to add?

2wd daily street driver here, also in FL. I went with the Cooper AT3 4S on mine. I hit the occasional beach (the same one as you!) and dirt road and have had no issues. Ride is quiet but a bit more firm than the Goodyears. Price was fairly reasonable, but A/T tires will cost a bit more than highway tires which you have listed.

I got my tires from Discount Tire and it was about $1k out the door.

Thanks for the input. Yes, we Florida drivers have to be able to drive on the beach! I have to stay on the really firm stuff with the open rear. Wifey & I have been wanting to move to Beachside DB between Seabreeze and Granada, but haven't done it just yet. But, if we did, could ride my bicycle or scooter to the beach every day lol.

On the tires, the ones you mention are more expensive than the other 2, but your endorsement has me leaning to the Cooper Discoverer HT. I did see a rebate on another website, maybe Tire Rack, for the General Grabber, free shipping, so that would bring them down to near the Cooper price. My local dealer in Titusville says they'll price match, so planned on giving them the business if they do.

Decisions, decisions! Need to get this done before my November trip to Michigan.

Hey all, I finally got my new wheels and tires on and it really made a difference IMO. Went from stock 17" to 20" and the Cooper Discoverer HT tires. Big difference. I had my local Ram Dealer in Titusville FL put them on, adjust the ECM for speedo, and install new TPMS. The lugs and center caps came off my old stock 17" wheels. For just a plain Tradesman (with a 5.7!), it's a great step up.

What next?
