whats your favorite buffing machine? I have a gen 1 Griots DA that it woefully slow and causes me more ghosting/halo than clean panels. Would like to stay random orbital for under $150

I run a good ole Porter Cable. Have had it for years and runs flawlessly. What pads are you running? I like the Hex Logic ones, pretty solid especialy when used with a lube. The pads can contribute to the ghosting more than the polisher. Are you cleaning the pads with a quality cleaner after each use?

I'm using the hex pads also. I tried my pad on my buffer then my pad on a neighbor's updated buffer, Very different results.

I use a Rupes LHR21 and a Rupes Mini LHR75E. I absolutely love both machines although above the $150 price point you're looking for.

Porter Cable HD. Can buy the HD version (heavier gauge and longer power cable) from Auto Geeks. I use Hex Logic and 3M pads.
