I'm thinking about buying an extended warranty for the electrical stuff and non-drivetrain issues that may pop up after 3 years/36k miles. Let me know who your favorite is if you have one!

I’ve looked into a few of these myself and honestly it really comes down to how much patience you’ve got for claims. CarChex and Endurance seem to get fewer horror stories compared to the others. Some of the cheaper ones sound good up front but fight you on every little repair. If you’re only worried about electrical/non-drivetrain, I’d make sure the fine print actually covers those, because a lot of people get surprised later.

None, save your money. Warranty till it runs out, then usually you can get two to 5 more years without major problems, if not trade it.

For 2026, Ram offers a new 10-Year/100,000-Mile Limited Powertrain Warranty for the original owner of most gas and diesel Ram trucks, including the Ram 1500, heavy-duty trucks, and ProMaster vans. This covers critical components like the engine, transmission, and drivetrain. However, this enhanced coverage is exclusively for original owners.

For used, use your best judgment.

As someone who worked in the industry and as someone who recently fought with Stellantis' India based warranty administration services...money in the bank. You can go to any shop, use any parts you want, and don't have to wait on someone else to decide your vehicle is broken and broken in a way that's covered.

The fact they are expensive to repair is baked in to the warranty price. They have actuarial charts that will tell them what the expected per unit cost of repairs will be, then they charge you that plus overhead costs plus profit.

You need an option for none of the above. Since that answer isn't there I selected other. I agree with Doc, put that money in the bank instead of the pockets of these companies. The chances are you won't need to use it. These companies can't make money if people are coming out ahead on extended warranties. Think of it as gambling, and the house always wins.

Credit Union uses Vision Warranty. Have used them on 3 different vehicles and never had a problem.

I selected "Other" and chose MaxCare.
Yeah, he should have put Mopar MaxCare as an option instead of your local dealer. A lot of folks buy the MaxCare from dealers that are not local to them.

I chose the Mopar Flex warranty offered through the dealer but I purchased through another dealer online in Michigan. Same warranty but at half the cost as my local guy wanted plus there was NO tax. Everything thing was done online and they are quick to respond if you have any questions. I chose this before my 36000/3 year ran out. I added 5 years and another 50000 miles to the original for around $2500. My first diesel.

Route 66. Little know but when I called three local repair shops and asked their opinion, they all said Route 66. I had never heard of them. Had to open an account with a local Credit Union in order to purchase their warranty. Much cheaper than the big ones and you do not get five pages of exclusions. Just a simple three page agreement covering everything except tires, battery, etc. They cover the electronics, which is the big one. I did a ten year deal up to 150,000 miles. You get rental car coverage and roadside assistance with it also along with tow service if needed. $100.00 deductible on mine for repairs.
