It's the new normal but the only way companies can stay in business today. People won't pay for the cost of quality and reliability. Quality and reliability are not free.Over the years I noticed that GM will have a team of the planet's best engineers design a vehicle to perform and last forever. When the engineers are done a team of Ivy league accountants with MBAs will review the design and make small changes to save $0.64 per unit and allow the vehicle to self destruct within 5 years. In the 80's my wife bought an Oldsmobile that did not have paint on the dipstick tube and freeze plugs so the rusted out. No drain holes in the frame- rust, cruise control module full of plastic gears. The list goes on. Had numerous company cars from GM that were the same.

You've Been Warned: Consumer Reports Says These 5 Pickup Trucks Aren't Very Reliable - Money Digest
It turns out classic American trucks can be just as unreliable as modern electric vehicles. Consumer Reports says these pick-ups are seriously problematic.www.moneydigest.com
Absolutely. Such lists should always be taken with a grain of salt. I meant the posting as more of a tongue in cheek thing based on how this thread has developed. There are lots of lists like that. When I was buying my Ram lots of concerned friends and family tried to caution me with such listings. I was able to find an equal or more listings showing Ram to be above average and making the top listings. It is all about the filters your internet search engine uses.
Most all of these companies are international today. Our Rams, and even Tundras are assembled in the US.

You are right, some are assembled in Mexico. I'm not sure of the mix. I do know that my 2017, and my 2025 were assembled in the US.
Fix It Again Tony......Yeah you got me there....LOLSo, what about the Italians?

Funnily, the Camry/Avalon (Toyota) are made in Georgetown, Kentucky. Yes, Japanese steel is delivered to the facility in mult-ton rolls, and roll out as new cars on the other end.Fix It Again Tony......Yeah you got me there....LOL
I have never owned a furrin car. Or a front wheel drive or anything less than a V8 and mostly 4X4s. At 78 I am still changing my own oil. Guess I am stuck in the good old days.
As long as I don't see KIA or Datsun ( yes no more) sitting in my driveway. I will be a happy camper. MERICA.
