I want to put oem 2500 flares on my 2015 max steel sport. Several years ago I purchased pre-painted mineral gray metallic Oem flares from Ebay that were new take offs from a 2500. Those were going to go on my 2012 sport, but never got around to installing them. I traded the 12 for a 15 about a month ago, but still have the mineral gray flares.

Question??? Is it a good idea to see about getting the mineral gray flares painted maximum steel? I know **** about painting/prep. Would a body shop need to do a lot of prep work, or would it be relatively easy? They are perfect....been in a box for the better part of 2.5 years.

Before I call a few body shops, figured I'd get some opinions on here.

Thx!

Scuff the clear, sealer, base, clear again. Any body shop should be able to readily match them. Prep is prep, even if you clean them up they're going to degrease and sand and do every step to make sure the work they turn out is consistent.

But yes, you should have no problem at all getting that done.

make sure you, or the body shop, puts fresh double sided tape on them before the install
