So I just bought this truck back in January and it's my first truck, I've always driven mustangs for the most part, had a srt-4 once, but anyway this is my first truck and I love it. So far I've ordered a Steel Craft bull bar (black) and some westin pro traxx 4" nerf bars. I'm going to throw some 4" round fog lights on the bull bar also.

I wish I had the money to lift the truck right now but since I can't there's other things I can get before that...

I do want to put some bushwacker fender flares on the truck but I just don't know how it would look with stock rims and tires. I have the black out edition so they're the 20" black rims.. Would the wheels look sunken in and just make the truck look like garbage due to that? I can't find any pictures of a truck like that... Which also makes me think well maybe that's why...

Also once I get the fender flares, painted or not? Or maybe that's just my preference, I can always put them on and paint later...

Rims + all terrain tires are going to run an easy $2500 so I also don't know if that's an option yet. Are wheel spacers a stupid idea? Are there negative effects from them?

So I guess my questions are, will fender flares look stupid with stock rims/tires? And are wheel spacers a stupid idea? Any insight would help, plus it'll also help with future ideas for the truck... It's a blank canvas at the moment..

Nice truck!! Every consider OEM flares? The bushwacker flares may make the stock tires tucked in.

Hmmm oem flares. I wonder if they make this "size" with the riveted look... I'll have to look into that...

I believe the OEM flares are smooth. I'll try to find a link. There are a few guys on here that have them. They are sweet looking with black truck!!

Yeah I wish they made tho se bushwacker type flares (riveted) that didn't stick out as far. Bushwackers add about an extra 2.5inches. Looks like I'll just have to wait till I can afford new rims and tires before I can throw those bushwacker or another type of riveted flare on...

I'm running the EGR bolt-on fender flares and stock 20" wheels with BORA 2" spacers and the wheels stick out the perfect amount... right to the edge of the flare.

Also, look at adding a PA 3" body lift.... very inexpensive way to lift the truck 3".

Nice! Have you experienced any problems with the spacers? I've read bad and good things about spacers such as causing problems with axles and wheel bearings. I don't plan on driving the truck hard or off road mainly just for looks but it's always a concern on a 2 month old truck.... How long have you had the spacers etc?? I appreciate your info and help.

Wait for a lift and bigger tires for those kinda flares.
Im running 37x12.50 tires and OEM flares, bushwackers would still look awkward with my setup.

I dont recommend those unless youre running a really wide setup. EGR flares would be a better option, still the rivited look but smaller width.

Spacers are ok to use if they are hub centric and wheel centric. I personally recommend Motorsports Tech as they custom make spacers to ANY dimension and width you want. Highly recommended on this forum. I have (2) NEW 1.5" wheel spacers for sale if interested

I am definitely getting the OEM flares for mine, just because these Duratracs stick out a bit. I'm thinking I'll use the 3M protective film on the underside of the flares to protect them somewhat from the stones and crap. I agree the Bushwackers stick out too far, especially with my current setup.

I've come to a decision. I am going to go with some 1.5-2" spacers... Talked to a local 4x4 shop for a while and he said that as long as I keep the spacers 2" or less that I shouldn't run into any problems as long as I check to make sure they are torqued to specs with every tire rotation.. From there I will prob also go with the Bushwacker pocket style fender flares.
