I finally got rid of my 2019 CC 4X4 SLT because of multiple defects on the paint kept popping out of nowhere.

How it started: (very short version)
At the end of 2019 I started noticing bubbling in the clear coat as well as paint peeling off down to the primer. Took the truck to the dealer and they basically told me that it wasn't a defect but "possibly" bird **** or road damage (whatever that means).
Fast forward to end of 2020 and my truck stayed garaged all this time since I had been working from home and even in the garage the paint finish keeps peeling off in very odd new places.
I realized that one more year and the paint finish is going to be so deteriorated that my truck won't be worth much. I went to a different dealer and sold it.
I do miss the truck as mechanically it was very reliable, comfortable and decent on gas but FCA dropped the ball on the paint finish quality control for the Classics. I hope I pick up another Classic with the Pentastar except this time I will pay cash and make sure that truck doesn't have paint issues.

Probably a good move on your behalf, given the current market conditions. It might have been moisture in the paint lines, or incompatible solvent used to clean the lines or during paint switch-over. Or bad (one-off) paint prep. Could have been a new HVAC repair technician not accustomed to the rules, sprayed some WD40 in an air handler to loosen some rusty bolts or stuck dampers, and a fine mist of oil was ejected out into the airstream ...onto a few vehicles which happened to travel below.

Crap happens in life and at the factory, who knows? Best of luck in your vehicle search.

Glad you got rid of it. No doubt if you would have continued to try to get Ram to fix it they would have blamed it on birds in your garage causing it.:emotions34:
