Got the truck back tonight, all fixed up and drives real nice. It's a thing of beauty!
Now I guess I have to decide if I should save the money for a tune or get a little unit like you linked LumberJaki. Maybe I'll read a little more about the tunes?

Personally I would recommend putting the money toward a tuner. If the AEV module was $50-$75 then yes but for $200 I would put that toward the tuner. You can do so much more with them

Can’t say I got it cleaned today but I did finally decide on the black honeycomb instead of the sport chrome

Looks great, what’s the exact setup you have?

Zone 6”
Front Bilstein?
Rear coils 3” or 5”
Tire size?
Wheel size and offset?

Zone 6”
5” rear coils
Bilsteins front and rear (front set at 0)
35x12.50R20
20x10 with -24 offset

I measured a perfect rake for me, so I did 5” rear coils and wanted the front bilsteins at 0. Well they are but the truck ended up being level, so I’m not sure where the math was wrong but it was. They did tell me the front factory shocks were wasted, so maybe the front was sitting lower than it was intended when it rolled off the line?

So it was level before and after the lift?....what are your gender measurements now?

Usually when using Bilsteins they don’t install the kits preload spacer to them but you should look and see if there’s a spacer inside the Coil-Over between the coil and top mount about 3/4” thick. If they didn’t mount that then you only got approx 5” front lift with them set at 0.

Pre-lift it was not level. It had nearly a 3” rake. According to the zone techs. I would get 6” up front and 5” up the back if I left the bils at zero. This would have left me with a post lift rake of 2”

That was exactly what I was hoping for. What I actually have is a level looking truck now. I need to get some measurements to confirm though.

What would the preload spacer do for me in this situation?

John,

That’s funny you mentioned that. Before I posted I actually glanced at the alphaobd but I couldn’t find the tire size info. Can anyone confirm because now I have no idea

the preload spacer would lift the front of the truck higher

Here is what the zone preload spacer looks like for the 6” lift
It’s about 3/8”th thick

You have that installed with your eibachs?
No I had them with the quick struts and did not install them onto the eibach set up.

Looks like I have the front spacers installed, which may be why I’m sitting higher in the front than I wanted to be IMG_7221.jpg
Anyone know if alphaOBD has the tire size ability for the ram?

I have one you can use brother, i’m In the DFW area. But can ship.

I would be grateful, but everyone says they are locked to the VIN. Which programmer do you have?

Unlocking it from one truck is done by restoring the stock tune. Thats how you sell it when you are finished with it

Well if that’s the case, would anyone let me use one that I can set my tire size and return it?

That won't work - if someone un-marries a tuner from their vehicle and sent to you, you would have to do the same to send it back, which would remove any tuning/settings you applied.

The AlfaOBD is probably you best low buck option - but be aware there is only one real oversize tire option available which is a 34.5" tire. AlfaOBD is not a set it to any tire size tool like the other tire programmers (Hypertech, etc), but allows one to select from any of the RAM option tire sizes only.
