Hello everyone, long time Ram fan here, I finally found the Ram I've been looking for.

I've been a Ram fan ever since I saw Twister in '97, and I've always wanted that truck. Flash forward to now, I work at BNSF, and I make a good amount of money, and it finally hit me that "woah wait a minute, I can finally afford to buy the silly thing!!!"

So I started my hunt- I was after a '94-'96 Ram 2500 4x4, club cab, V10, with the 8 foot box. Found one EXACTLY like the one from Twister two years ago, but it was so rusted away that I didn't go for it.

I found a white one 15 minutes away from me, waited 2 weeks to hear from the owner, I finally got a call as I'm going to work that I could come look at the truck... One hour later, I get another call that it's sold. To me, that just made me even more frustrated, but I figured that meant something better was out there.

Lo and behold, 5 hours later, this shows up...

"96 Dodge Ram 2500 SLT 3/4 ton extended cab, longbed. 4 brand new LT245/75r16 Firestone TransForce HT LRE 10 ply tires! 8.0 liter V10 engine, auto transmission, 4 wheel drive. Cold AC, power windows, power door locks, power steering, power brakes, tilt, cruise, power driver's seat, cd player, towing package, brake box, 5th wheel / gooseneck plate. Red with gray cloth interior. Regularly maintained. Runs + drives smooth and strong. 249,925 highway miles - daily driver. Recent: front and rear brake jobs + new rotors, radiator, serp belt, idler pulley, quiet dual exhaust. Looks like the truck used in the movie, "Twister". Make an excellent farm / construction / work truck, car hauler, or daily driver. "

The EXACT thing I've been looking for. First owner used it to pull a horse trailer, and the second owner drove it as a daily driver. No rust, no big dings, interior looks good and it has a good amount of fresh work done to it.

I got it for $4600, which I think is a really good price for the condition it's in. The only thing is that I have to drive it back 556 miles from Nashville to Kansas City. Haha, road trip time!

The only things I need to do to it is find some NOS '96 cab clearance lights, and yes, I'm going the distance, I'm having someone make Dorothy. It's always been a dream of mine to make a replica of the truck from Twister, and it's going to happen. And yes, I will be storm chasing in it. I hope I get some ridiculous reactions :roflsquared: I really look forward to passing the guys with the Dominator and the TIV's.

I'll also be driving around some of the filming locations of Twister in 2016 for Twister's 20th. Pretty excited to get this going.

Also helps that I need a 4x4 pickup, and well, here it is! (oh yeah, the license plate's gonna be "F5PRF" for F5 Proof haha)

Thanks, everyone! I really look forward to having it. Flying out Wednesday to Nashville to drive it 9 hours home. I'm ready for the roadtrip, it'll be the exact route I took when I brought my 1971 Torino 500 home.

Flew out today to get it, drove it home 10 hours, from Nashville to Kansas City, KS. Took some backroads in Tennessee and Kentucky to enjoy the gorgeous scenery. Truck drove like a charm and hit 250k miles on the way home.

It's solid as hell, but the clear coat is flaking off all over the place and the paint is cracking in several spots- but that's ok, I'll be repainting it sometime so I don't mind. Has very light hail damage and some very small dings here and there- but for what I'm going for, that just adds in! Also had the cab lights put on last week. Next week I'll be placing some calls, I found a Dorothy that was used in the actual movie... Gonna try and buy it HAHA or at least get exact measurements and maybe some pictures of it in the bed.

And so far, I LOVE the V10. I'll be cruising at 70mph and from what I feel from the pedal it feels like I'm doing 45, haha. It has a lot of power to it still.

The interior is pretty decent, driver side has the wear and tear you'd expect- it's down to the metal on the left side haha.

Made a page for my truck! https://www.facebook.com/ThePaxtonmobile

I went down to Oklahoma to Norman, to see the Storm Prediction Center/Norman Weather Center/National Weather Center, and then to Wakita to the Twister Museum. It was an amazing trip. All pictures are on the Paxtonmobile page, and here are two from them.

0154881943505285_8815147866314802578_n_zpsf488be62.jpg

Me in front of the Twister Museum- Wakita is a small town about ~100 people or so, and all of them were involved in the production when the filming was going on in their town from April-December '95. Got quite a few "Haven't seen THAT in person in a while!" I think I'm the first to show up with a truck exactly like the one from the movie.

And here's me parked EXACTLY where the Ram from Twister was parked in front of Aunt Meg's house- it was demolished at the end of the filming so all that remains is the lot. It was pretty cool and intense- no truck like that has been parked there in 19 years... UNTIL NOW.

Got a metal shop lined up, should have Dorothy V done in about two months or so, whenever I can drop the $$$ to have it built.
