As the title says I the new owner of a 2017 Ram Laramie Crewcab 4X4. I have read a lot of threads here regarding leveling kits and would like to see if I can get some questions answered as I plan on leveling mine in the near future. I see members talking about ball joint wear, having to replace upper control arms, and having to use wheel spacers to keep the tires from rubbing. Is this what I'm looking at if I level my truck? Is raising it 2-2.5 inches to get it level and going up one tire size going to get me into all of those issues ,I never had any problems like that with any of the Ford F150's I leveled up. Also one other question I'd like to get answered,it seems everyone that's leveled their truck has either used some sort of spacer or Bilstein shocks. Has anyone here ever used the Rancho RS9000 Quickstrut? I've used them on a couple of my Ford trucks with no issues and was happy with the ride quality. Sorry for all the questions, like my post says ,I'm a first time Ram owner, been a Ford driver for the last 50 years and I know very little about a Ram truck. Thanks

I leveled mine with the Bilstein shocks set at 2.8. I did the upper control arms just cause I saw people where having issues.

However, my buddy just did the Bils at 2.8 and has 53K miles on his and no issues..

I didn't need any spacers.

Rancho is really not all that impressive and cost a ton more.. I would save the money.

I've had the Ranchos QL's in the RAM and they have a much better ride compared to the forum beloved 5100's at either 2.1 or 2.8".They''ll just give you 2" lift in the front though and you can't go higher like you could with 5100's or Eibach adjustable for example as they not height adjustable. They're plug and play though, take your factory struts out slap the QL's in and take the truck straight to the aligment shop. This is what sold me into them. I upgraded them later on to a much performance oriented setup with King coilovers but i still have those Ranchos in my garage as my backup set.

In 5100's defense preloading the factory springs to their max to attain lift is what makes them ride harsh asides of course from their street valving, if you didn't preload the springs then the 5100's will ride 10 times better than what they do at the top of course almost nobody will pay the price to have 0 lift haha. If you want to go past 2" then you can go with Eibach 2.75" springs and either use Eibach struts or 5100's at 0 lift.

A much better option for ride and performance, Fox 2.0 setup (up to 2" lift) Bilstein 6112 (2.5" lift) or Falcon Leveling (2.5"), if you want the absolute best performance out of your factory mid travel arms then you can go with a race suspension using Icon,Fox,Kings and Radflo coilovers, best of the best performance you can choose from a couple of long travel arms setups with long travel coilovers and shocks.

If you prefer the ranch style or whaver they call it with now days with 4 or 6" lift setups, then there are bracket lifts to go that high or higher, sky is the limit :)

Enjoy.

Thanks for the info. All I'm wanting to do is get my truck close to being level and to go up maybe one size bigger on the tires. My days of 4-6 inch lifts and 38-40 inch tires are long gone.
