So sat I put a super 44 on. I like it but the wife hates how loud it is. I just have it dumped at cab. Now if I run some pipe to a 90 and have it exit the side will it help with drone and quiet it some.

Yes it will. My mustang had a pair of 40's dumped at the axle and it was waaay too loud for me. I clamped on a 18" piece of aliminized exhaust pipe temporarily which made the exhaust exit close to the bumper and it was much quieter.

Yes, getting the exhaust exiting out the side of the truck rather than dumping underneath it will definitely help get rid of some cab noise and drone.

When I put a Flowmaster system on my old 1500 I had left it dumping under the box for a day or so before I could get another hanger to finish off the job. Sounded terrible inside the cab (even with it under the box). As soon as I finished it off with the exhaust exiting out from under the truck it sounded much better.

Yeah I want to run it to after rear tire . I hope it takes some of the drone and loud away. My wife refuses to ride or drive it now. I just want a mellow hum .

Hey the other week I cut all the pipe off from the exit back on my muffler.

I can hear it now at idle. I like it. Like a low rumble. As soon as the rpm's increase though you can't hear it anymore.

I'm sayin, I agree, if you run a pipe away from under the truck, it should take away what you're hearing.

And, :), buy that Diablo T1000 tuner and you can turn off the MDS. Though, I think I've lost about 2 mpg's since doing so again. But the way I drive I can't tell if it's me or that. haha

Out of sheer curiosity what is it that draws ppl to Flowmasters? They don't flow well, and are prone to rusting out. maybe it's just me, but for the money spent why not get a straight thru type muffler or 1 that will actually net you a gain? Unless its a 10 series/CherryBomb Extreme, dont see the point.

Unless you just want the chamberd sound I guess. I would gladly sacrifice a chambered tone for flow, but then again I have some killer lope going on so dont really hear it no way....lol

Just picked up a diablo tuner. Not the one I wanted but for money couldn't pass up. I'll see how it is on a little .

I personally get nostalgic about a "Flow" because where I was growing up and racing, err, driving cars, I mean - the late 80's (mine was an 89) and early 90 models with the 5.0L were just... plain... beautiful sounding.

I wish my truck sounded like some of those old stangs.

But I won't sacrifice performance for it.

flows are a sound only mod that only true flow loyalists would appreciate...I ran flows for a year and couldn't get how the sound just flushes out when you get on it... went to magnaflows and it just sounds muscular throughout the rpm band..

Well when this rust out in 6 months I'll switch. If was not for gift card wouldn't have got it. And it was the only 3in they had so it's better than stock I guess lol.

I don't put total stock in audio clips of exhausts but IF you are interested in uploading an audio clip to Youtube or somethin, I'd love to hear what a Flow sounds like on the HEMI.
