Okay, so being one, that this is my first truck, and two, it's my first domestic, what are some of the potential hazards of running full straight pipe of the y-pipe?

Every import that I've owned, 3 honda's, 4 RX-7's, 2 WRX's, 2 Nissans and a Toyota, have all been bitten by my blade.

I live in Montana, have no sound ordinance, or emissions to deal with, I'm just curious if there is any potential harm to the ECU to this change? Obviously, I'll lose some low end, but I've always been a "louder is better" kinda guy.

Opinions? Other options?

Thanks for you time!

Get a cutout, keep the cats until you can make up the lowend, it was a VERY noticeable loss on mine pre-cam. I put mine back on, picked up some lowend, made it sound much better to my ear, and kept the smell down so I could breath while working on it.

Here is what mine sounds like as it sits now with the mods in my sig (note that up until around 0:52 it is running through my muffler not the cutout, you'll hear it open).

Another thing to note is the Hemi cats are already highflows or flow very close to the highflows as they are. Remove them if you want to and see how you like it but I found them horrible to drive without, no lowend, ****** launches (stock cam) and I like it loud and normally drive with the cutout open at all times, but without the cats and cutout opened/closed the truck sounded like **** to me.

they vary...2 components, cutout tube (Y pipe), and the e-cutout itself. it's very cheap if you do just the tube with plates and manually take it off...but pricey with the e-cutout component...if your single piping than it's half the cost, I'm running duals so I want to say I paid around $380 for the pair of DMH's I have.. Quality is key too, lots of cheaper options but I hear too many stories of them breaking... I've had mine for years and probably 80k+ miles and they are still working well..

I've got a Graceland on mine, simple and easy setup, one piece, picked it up for $99 new. Been working great, no issues for the last year or two now. Dmh has a nice setup too, had one for a while and sold it off when I reworked things.
