Mega hot today and no airflow issues. The humidity is crazy and I noticed today at a traffic light, there was puddles from cars pouring water from the a/c while we waited for a green light. People have talked about the dirt building up if you don't run a cabin air filter. I wonder if it would clean itself out over the summer once you add the filter? I mean... days like today, they just dump water and that must help clean out some of the pre filter buildup.

The truth is he took it out to reduce the weight of the truck when he raced it last year----every little bit helps :D:D

I've changed my cabin air filter a couple of times. I'm always shocked at what it looks like.

Does a 2016 R/T have a factory cabin air filter? Asking is easier than tearing out the glove box to check.

I think some late model 16's had them but mine was an early model and did not. Sorry I guess you'll have to look.

I have a 2010 Ram 1500 Hemi with 104K miles. Just had the A/C evap cooler replaced it was dead, and while they were in there I had them replace the heater core. Total cost from a good shop / wrench was about $1,500. I was OK with price as I did not want to tackle this job.

Now have a small leak of coolant into the cabin, mechanic thinks it is a defective heater core, have appointment to diagnose / replace it in a week. Shop takes a boning as part manufacturer will give them free replacement part and about $250 extra to fix the problem... now I'm REAL glad I did not do the job.

I already bought the kit from Genos Garage to install cabin air filter, they have a video showing how easy it is to complete the job. I 'm so paranoid I also got the CAB FRESH FILTER Kit..... just to play it safe.

I don't need to drive....just let it sit in the yard or driveway...in a week, there will be dust in the cab from the air blowing in.

Hey, we can save some money on parts, and on warranty replacements for a bad smell from the A/C system.

I'm surprised they didn't do away with the underhood light like GM did to save another 25 cents per vehicle.
They did.

For some reason mine only seems to get half used. Meaning half of my filter doesn't seem to have the outside dirty air running through it.8d14c571bb5b7dd7cfca0a8f46d3cb63.jpg

Looks like ya had it in up side down. The arrow should be pointing to the clean side which would be down when in the HVAC box. No Idea why it only got half dirty.

Had it in the right way up with arrow point down to foot well area. Both sides of the filter are like that . Mine had small spores of mold on both sides. Which you can see as black specs on the image.
