That is a cool idea, but I'm curious how many times you have demagnetized your credit cards when you sit on your tailgate?

I dont see the point other than keeping nuts and bolts in there. its not going to hold a drink. and like some one said if you sit on it with your wallet you could screw up your cards. I want to like this but I just to see a purpose. Unless you park on a really steep hill and you use your tailgate as a work bench.

Im not trying to **** in anyones cornflakes here but whens the last time you put a nut in that cup holder spot and its rolled away and you thought to yourself "DAMN IT, I need to do something about this, its the 5th time this week that has happened"?

To me at least, this mod is definitely something that seems like a great idea, right up until you think, "when would I actually need this"? I work on my tailgate all the time and have never actually needed this. If I really did, I'd rather temporarily stick one of these https://www.amazon.com/Titan-Tools-11061-Magnetic-Parts/dp/B000HYL20G somewhere for $4.50 and not have the risk of accidentally setting my $800 phone or my wallet on a 95# hidden magnet that I forgot was there.

Great idea, until you sit on the tail gate to sip a cold brew, and the magnets wipe out the magnetic strips on all your debit/credit cards in your wallet in your back pocket.

I wonder how much the UPS guy enjoys delivering multiple boxes of those things.. The shelves on the truck are metal.:naughty:
.

The shelves are aluminum. But yes I'm sure they are nice and heavy. Oh well. Have to pay for all those mods somehow.

Isn't the magnet strong enough to stick to the steel w/o the glue....or am I minus something?

I didn’t want them sliding after multiple tailgate shuts…even if it’s minor…eventually you’ll have to open it back up and slide em back into place….I like a little bit of overkill in my projects LOL

Also. No credit card issues to date…LOL
