I installed a front hitch on my '14 4X4 today. It is the Curt #31374 hitch. The install was pretty painless; drilling those 17/32 holes in the frame takes a while, I did do a 9/32 pilot hole first, but still a job. Those fish wires are interesting for getting the flanges and bolts inside the frame, worked fine though, it's a bit nerve wracking dropping the bolt inside the frame on the end of this thin wire. I did trim the Valance so it is not pushed up by the hitch.

Now I have to find something to go in the factory tow hook spaces...

Looks great! As far as the tow hook locations maybe cut the blanks and do this??

That looks good. I don't have blanks though. Maybe I can find something that fits in the tow-hook openings.

Why a front tow hitch? And why not add tow hooks, you have the holes already might as well fill the space with those?

I use mine for my snow plow. Some of the front hitches require that the tow hooks be removed for the installation.

I keep a step in the tube when I don't have my plow attached.

Led light strip would really set the front end off for a great finish. I like the look of the front hitch.

I love my truck!

dumb question - if you hit the hitch on something (curb, etc) would it set off the airbags?

Said curb would have to be big enough to otherwise destroy your suspension and likely set off your airbags anyway...

I have the same hitch. I actually shortened it a bit as I didn't like how far it stuck out under the sport bumper. I only use it as a recovery point and light weight stuff so I wasn't concerned about loosing any strength. I picked up of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0009YFNXQ/ref=ppx_yo_mob_b_inactive_ship_o2_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I like the way it looks and it's functional. I hit a few cement parking blocks with it and because of the angle the shield, the shelf "slid" onto the block instead of coming to a stop. This was at low speeds obviously.

Just my driveway. They have plows made for ATVs. I was using the same plow on my Dakota for 17 years.

Gotcha , definitely don’t go plowing on any roads. 1500’s are not cut out for the front end abuse of a plow.

Absolutely not, I agree 100%. Plus, it's just a push-plow, without a way of moving the plow up or down without me picking it up onto the bracket, so it's not designed for any real plowing. It just means that with my remote start, and circular driveway, I can clear all of the snow, in a heated cab, with the radio playing, in a half hour, instead of snow-blowing or shoveling outside in the elements... :)

That picture is roughly 1/4 of my entire driveway, so it's not very much.

My SnoSport push plow (no hydraulics).

How well does that plow work ? Is there a limit to how much it can plow such as a 24 inch snow fall ? Thanks . Might look at this set up for my truck.
