Fuel gauge bouncing!

1993 W250 with a 5.2 liter. Lately my fuel gauage has been bouncing/moving all of the place. If im going in a straight line on an even road, it stays steady but, if I brake, turn or accelerate, it will move, usually towards the Empty mark.
Any ideas why?
