I have a issue with fuel gauge not reading
I have gone thou every thing at lease 8 times
I bought a new fuel level sensor and drop the tank and installed it I test the old one and it was reading ohms both was reading 59ohms as I move the level sensor it would go up to 999 ohms no dead spots so it told me it was good but I change it any ways. I took the cluster panel off and Inspect it no damage to the board I reinstalled it ran a ipc test on alfaobd gauge is working but keeps going back to empty this happen because the truck was empty on gas for a long time little over a year now that I am back and I just add a full tank to day still reads zero. On start up the gauge flinches a little but doesn't raise.
Does anyone else have any ideas I am all out

Sounds like a short. Many times it is where the wiring for the sending unit rubs against the frame above the fuel tank. Another possibility is a loose connector on top of the tank.

Same problem here...started dropping quickly as if I had a leak then went to 'E'. Next fuel stop was 40 miles away...only took 14 gallons (out of 34). Figured the trouble was a failing sending unit (pump was clearly working fine as zero hiccups in motor operation or power). Replaced the Pump/Sending unit...original was actually in excellent working order (but worth doing at 269K miles). Checked fuel sending signal from tank to the TIPM...all good. (beyond that is Ram Bus so not easy for shadetree's to check signal to gauge)

Sent the TIPM to GoECM thinking an internal component went bad...but all good (save for a minor repair...which GoECM refunded $195 of the $295 repair cost...exceptional service). Gauge Check showed all servo's working....so - scratching head - what else could it be? Pulled the Cluster (easy-peasy) and sent it off to Circuit Board Medics ($199 to go thru the entire Cluster w/ repairs). Mentioned in my report to them it might be the Fuel Gauge servo or a PCB component based on symptoms and the rest of the system was working to spec. 1-Day repair after receipt. Turns out the Fuel Gauge servo did go bad. Fixed and reinstalled. Working fine now.

Point being, if the Cluster gauge check shows they are "operating" -- they may not be from the Ram Bus signal...which in this case the problem was within the Cluster.
