I was 4x4ing and wound up getting stuck in a river and when I got pulled out there was some barbwire that slit my tank open :(

I'm wondering if anyone has recommendations for replacing the fuel tank? I got a quote from the dealer at $970 for a new tank but I thought that was super high!

This is for a 2013 Dodge Ram 1500 Standard Cab with Hemi.

Any suggestions much appreciated.

Almost worth an insurance claim if they cover offroad use.

junk yard if there are any wrecked '13s in your area. If not, bite the bullet at the dealership or try a fuel cell.

^Agreed. Auto parts atores just don't carry items like that until a few years after the model is released because they're considered "long wear items". That is, unless it is the same as an 09+...?

Truck had 418 miles on it and got wrecked. Sad, but timely.

I'm not surprised at all about that price from the dealer especially for a newer truck. I dont know of many other places you are going to get a tank. If your doing the install yourself maybe look into getting a titan fuel tank? I know they are super expensive as well but are also very durable incase something happens in the mud again. May be worth checking if they made one for your year truck

The OP should follow my link in post #12 above if he still needs a tank. There's one there if he doesn't miss it.
