Hey Herrold, I'm running mobile 1 synthetic, about 3000 miles into fresh oil change, on start up oil pressure is up good, but after it runs for 10-15 mins it's drops past the halfway mark, is this normal ? Thinking changing it out to royal purple in the next week or 2 I use the mobile 1 filter as well, what do u think about the k&n filter with the royal purple?

When hot mine idles midway in the bottom half of the band. When coasting to a stop off the gas its sits just left of 1/2way and at any speed/load just to the right of 1/2way. This has been the same with redline and amsoil fully synthetic.

I am using the same oil and oil filter, your oil pressure is normal. Oil will be thicker when cold, and is harder to pump thru the engine, when the engine reaches normal operating temperature, the oil will be thinner, and will flow much easier. Since the oil flows differently according to the engine temperature, the oil pressure will drop down some when hot, also the oil pressure will be a little different between idle and higher engine rpms.

I run AMSOIL & K&N oil filters on my 07' Harley Davidson. I haven't any experience with the Royal Purple oil, when I researched the oil best for my Harley, the reviews for Royal Purple wasn't very good.

Ive been running mobile 1 extended performance with Lucas oil full synthetic additive and a fram extended preformance in 03 Silverado for years. Both oil and filter claim to last 15,000 miles. I will drive between 100-200 miles a day street/highway mixed.
I usually change it between 12,000-15,000 every 5 or 6 months. I never lose any oil nor fill any sluggishness until after the 12,000 Mark or beyond that. I use four quarts Mobil 1 and 2 quarts Lucas in my Silverado. 5 quarts Mobil 1 and 2 quarts Lucas in my 07 hemi. Ill be change the hemis oil once a years since I don't put more then 10,000 a years on it and it holds up just fine.

I do a oil & filter change, every 5K on my 07' Dodge Ram 1500 5.7L Hemi, and every 3K on my 07' Harley Davidson Fatboy.

As long as the oil meets Chrysler MS-6395, and is 5w-20, it'll work like a charm. My first oil change at 5k was right to Castrol Syntec, and now I have a hookup for Amsoil so that's all I'm going to run from this point forward.
Synthetic oil made all the difference in my old Ford F-150 which was notorious for cam phaser issues. My motor ran like a champ.
