Alright guys, I've got the mod bug pretty bad. I'm really wanting a set of headers on my truck. So far, I've got the following on my list:

-Pacesetter Longtube headers (Figure I'll spend the extra cash on ceramic coating)
-Mopar gaskets
-Stage 8 Locking bolts
-Magnaflow Y-pipe

Now on to my concerns: My current exhaust setup is stock, aside from the muffler. I don't figure the headers will bolt onto the factory Y-pipe, but will the Magnaflow pipe bolt onto the stock piping?

How labor intensive is a LT header install? I understand a shorty install is pretty much plug-n-play? This is will be my first install, if I decide to do it myself. I'm not scared of a challenge, but if it's too tough, I'll take it down to my regular exhaust shop.

Is this install possible without removing cats or O2 sensors?

Thanks for the help.

I have long tubes with stock everything up to the outlets of the cats. Of course I didn't put them on but I assume that the only thing that needed to be changed was the coupling from the header to the exhaust pipe. And I have all stock o2 sensors and all.

The install is completely possible to do if you remove the cats, but someone correct me if I am wrong but you will either need some O2 sims to prevent the truck from throwing a code or tune that out (not sure if you can tune that out). If you do decide to keep cats, you will either need to modify your stock cat inlets to accept larger piping, go with aftermarket larger cats, or buy a Y-pipe that already has them in the system ($$$).

Your other questions I can't comment on but I do know that anytime I have worked on a car, things never go as planned and something ALWAYS comes up. Not trying to deter you, but just know that something unforeseen (stuck bolt, stripped bolt, etc.) can pop up that will throw a wrench in things that could make it a lot longer process.

Your better off getting the pacesetter off road y and attaching your cats if you want to keep them. The mag y will require a shop to still make the rest of the mid pipes to hook up

My truck at the shop getting that install done right now. I'm going with Pacesetter LTs, Pacesetter OR Y-Pipe, Magnaflow Cats, Mopar Gaskets, new hardware & extensions for the O2 sensors. The guy doing the work looked over everything with me and said I had everything needed. He just called 30 mins ago to let me know that things were going well and should be done in about an hour or so.

How much did it run you, parts and shop install? Would you mind posting up a video?

What size piping should I go with, guys?
