Hi All - Just thought I would share a possible fix if you're getting the "Service Trailer Brakes" notice on screen.
When I first got my 2020, I put a small 3/4" block between the posts on the Integrated Trailer Brake Module (ITBM) on the center screen console, bottom left side, to be certain the "Manual Brake Control Lever" could NOT be moved away from the off position. Early on, it seemed to me it could so easily be moved, with just a touch, off of zero. I recently removed that block due to another project and immediately began receiving the screen warning "Service Trailer Brakes" on every start. I replaced the block and am no longer getting that notice.
Might be worth a try to see if that will stop the notice from appearing on your screen. Much better NOT having to see the warning and one less thing to worry about, being told that your trailer brakes need service when they are actually OK!
Hey, if it works for you, great, but please check into it further if the notice keeps reappearing. It is not safe to tow a trailer with brakes that are not working.
Hope this might help someone out there?
