So I figured out what all I'll need for converter and long tubes and plan to order them in the next few days and be done with my truck. But I've been finding a lot of good deals on hemis lately on Craigslist and have a few questions.
How much horsepower can the stock block of a 5.7 and 6.1 handle reliably(wanting 5-600).
If I build it it will have a forged rotating assembly and probably 9/1 compression ratio for boost.
I will be sure to get the pcm and harness with it and make sure it's not from anything before 05 so I can have custom tuning.
It will be going in a dodge demon when me and my dad find one that we think is a good deal but I want to have an engine ready.

Hi justdodgeman,

I think the wildeest hemi car I ever saw was a 64 Plymouth Valiant that someone shoe-horned a 426 race engine into. That thing was wall to wall tire when you looked at the back end. I think the Demon will look sweet. Post some pics as you build 'er up.
Good luck with the project,

You might consider talking to the guys over at inertiamotorsports.com. They specialize in the hemi engine and could probably give you a few tips.

Found a link to a guy that built a 6.1Lhemi and dropped it into a '71 Demon. Looks pretty badass. 1971 Dodge Demon

Yep we've always wanted to restore a demon. And I know what you are talking about and that's what gave me the idea of putting a hemi in it. And I wanna put a t-56 behind it. Big plans but it'll happen sooner or later it shouldn't require to much fabrication besides cutting up the tranny tunnel or whatever it's called, making a crossmember, and they make custom motor mounts for it. Then I'd put 9.25 rear end on it. Big plans and a lot of money but my dad just got his dream job and I've got a good job so we will start before long
