good deal?

hey everyone, i was recently looking into buying a new f150 screw... but my girlfriends dad came across this deal
a 2003 dodge ram quad cab with 28,000 miles. the guy wants 12,000 for it... deal or no deal? the guy is a retired war vet who can barely walk, i know for a fact the truck hasnt been abused. hes just looking to get rid of it. what yall think??? THANKS

i bought my 2003 4x4 w/ hemi (also had a 6" lift) and 26,000 miles on it for $14,000 in los angeles. Granted, i got a really good deal on it (blue book was 15k), but it gives you an idea...

its not a bad deal, but not an amazing deal either

I would say 12 is high but thats just me, I also wouldn't buy a DD truck that was 2wd.

no need for 2wd then. save your gas but anywho, that ram isnt a great deal, but its not bad. on the high side of what its worth being a 4.7 and 2wd

my bad... meant no need for 4wd lol.

only problem with the 4.7L is potential sludge buildup, head gaskets like to go bad sometimes. neither of which you should have problems with being low mileage, as long as hes taken care of maintenance.

i was thinking more of 10 hes an older man who just doesn drive anymore. i have one more month till imm done with college for good and until i can go make a good loan.. plus, i need to sell my 07 nissan frontier king cab first.....

I would start at 9,5k.....

He is asking 12, he may say 11, then you say 10 and you both agree on 10,5....

And dont let people tell you 4wd is better than 2wd....

my truck is 2wd and I have never been stuck in it and I go where all my 2wd buddies and their jeeps/exploders and f150s go...

Put yourself some good meaty rubbers, get an appropriate lift, and learn how to control everything and you'll be able to go anywhere your friends go!

its actually my girlfriends neighbor. her dad just texted me about it a few hours ago and i went check it out. forgot it has flowmasters too. not a scratch on it, but its an 80 year old man driving it around.
i think hes going tell them tomorrow to wait on selling it for a month, cuz im interested.. i'd rather finance 10 or 12 k for a slightly used vehicle than 24 k for a new one

Thats a good idea...if its mint, and its low mileage, youre getting a really good deal...
