When I did my brake job, what took the longest was rebuilding the calipers. When I did the brake job I noticed the boots (seal) on some were torn.

3rd strike performance will hook you up with these seals

gl with the job, sometimes a buddy and some brews makes it easier

i also had this problem an advanced auto parts has the boots a set of 4 for 13 bucks

Your right that is a little deck. Its the second one I've put up. The other other one is 30 x 12. This is just a small deck that will sit right outside my door for a place to drink some coffee in the morning.

Everything was great until the last brake of the day. Got to my driver side front and the caliper falls and snaps the hose. I have one coming tonight from autozone but now I have to learn how to do the hose job correctly and bleed the brakes which I was hoping not to do.

Ahh gotcha. That makes sense. We have a pretty good size deck here but have never used it in almost 5 years, only my dog uses it to lay on lol

its not hard to change a hose. just a couple of connections and your done. now bleeding on the other hand will require a second person unless you have a vac system to bleed them. But just have someone sit inside and pump the brakes 4 or 5 times. On the last one have them hold it in, open the bleeder and and fluid will come out. the pedal will go to the floor make sure they hold it to the floor. close bleeder then let up the pedal. do this a coulpe times on each one or until you have a steady stream of fluid. start with the one furthest away and work your way up. pr,dr,pf,df will be the order. Also make sure you dont let the fluid run out.

Thanks. It doesn't sound terribly difficult but that connection on the right looks a little bit more complicated. I see 3 metal hoses coming out of it.

What should have been an hour and a half project has turned into a fiasco. As I type this I'm waiting for a tow truck to come load my truck and take it to the garage down the street. I picked up the brake hose last night and started early morning today. Struggled to get the caliper off, I had to go buy a $35 beaker bar just to brake the bolts free. Once I got that off I put the rotor on started to put the caliper and brake hose on. All is good at this point and feeling like ill be done ready to drive. Once I got it all on I turned my attention to bleeding the lines. Front driver side bleed valve has been stripped to nearly round. Looked at the back and those look good but rusty so hit it with PB blaster and started to turn the valve...broke right off in the caliper. So now I have two bleed valve that I can't use. So instead of attempting to ruin the other two I'm going to give up and let someone else fix it. I hate old rusty parts. Just got back from autozone and purchased two calipers.

Got my truck back today and I only needed one caliper to be replaced. He changed out the bleeder valves on the other 3. Great brakes. Very quiet and very good stopping performance.
