After driving a Tundra for a while I bought a new 2017 Ram 1500 Laramie EcoDiesel. Coming from a Tundra I just about doubled my MPGs. So far I put about 5500 miles on it and the truck runs great and definitely exceeded my expectations.

Couldn't find an EcoDiesel sub forum around here though. Am I the only diesel owner here?

Congrats, this forum doesn’t have subfurums for engines, there’s no V6 forum either. There’s other Eco owners here, your no alone

We are trying to ask the admins to make a sub forum here for the ecodiesel, I particularly don’t like too much to jump between forums, as this is my favorite one, but there’s a couple dedicated

I have a ecod, if you want actual pertinent info, i suggest you join the numerous facebook groups for ecodiesel.

The forum are quite biased, if you read every intoduction on the 1500ecodieselforum.com everyone and their grandma will tell you to immediately drop your pants and spend $1k for a gde ecu tune.

But if you do that, you are violating federal law and loose your warranty if the dealer finds out.

Shame on me for bringing up an old thread but I wanted to thank you @FXCLM5 for that last bit of pertinent information regarding it's effect on warranty claims. They don't do exhaust tests in the part of Texas I live in but losing the warranty would be a well.... not fun.

If you only do the GDE hot tune and do not remove the DPF, you will have a better chance of passing for warranty. I would not remove anything while under warranty. The egr system in the ecodiesel is a nightmare. I have been through it and had to bail on it early. I won’t own another without it the egr disabled.
