Granite Chrystal Metallic

If anyone is interested in color matching their granite Chrystal Metallic truck's and don't want to pay a premium for Mopar paint or doesn't have a local place that can make it I found a great option. It's 99% perfect match. And if you spray it just right it would be a 99.5% perfect match.

Use this and a 2k clear gloss clear coat

I've searched and this is as close as I could find although the metallic doesnt seem as much as oem!

Depending on how you spray it, to close and the metallic is fine, to far away the metallic is bigger, somewhere in the middle is real close to the size as oem.

Sanded them with 60 grit on a orbital sander (sounds like it would leave scratches but it roughs the chrome up just enough). Primed with self etching primer, used flat black as a base coat. Then paint and clear. I took about 3 day's to complete. Day 1- sand and prime, day 2- base and color, Day 3- clear.

If you do your grill I would use 100/120 grit

They clear is the most expensive part. I tried with some rustoleum clear which was OK. I ended up using this

3 coats (1 can for the grill and about 1.5 cans per bumper) gives it that oem gloss look and feel.

I found one that matched the deep cherry chrystal metallic too and did my wiper arms and clear coated. Hard to see in the pic though.
