Anyone have a growling gremlin after they turn off their 5.7? I have a 2021 Warlock and after I shut him off and wait for a few minutes there is a growling sound..2 or 3 times from the dash area...freakie!. Figure it is just the Warlock saying good nite!

Could be a vent door squeaking. Or, could be a vent door actuator making noise. Vehicles go through a calibration procedure which involves stoking the damper doors inside the HVAC heater box through the entire damper door stroke ...so the computer knows where full open and full closed (and points in between) are.

If you have the ability to read the codes, I would try to read the HVAC computer for any HVAC codes. Just in case. Your vehicle is pretty new ...but there's always a (although unlikely) broken damper door, or bad actuator. If the computer can't register full open/closed on one of the dampers, it'll continue to stroke them for a certain number of times/minutes. Then it'll stop.

Could be something else making noise, but dampers is what comes to mind.

If the engine coolant level is low, with air in the system, it can cause a growl or gurgling noise in the dash after engine shutdown.

Check your engine coolant level.

@Dave Haddon the sounds your hearing is most likely the HVAC system putting itself "to sleep", the dampers set themselves to default positions. The process will happen again if you open/close a door on the truck.

I never knew that..you guys know everything! Thank you..puts my mind at ease...although by random chance i did check my coolant level and it was barely showing on the stick..so $50 for a gallon of the special stuff from the dealership of which I will probably only use maybe a quart to get it to midway btwn Min & Max when cold.

Keep an eye on the coolant level. You may have a slow leak that burns off before it drops to the ground and creates a puddle.

If under warranty, you may want to have a dealer check it for the low level (think water pump leak....).
