I am not terribly tall, and I was having the hardest time reaching the center of the hood closest to the windshield (the space between the two washer fluid jets). I would spray quick detailer and always have difficulty cleaning up that overspray.

So I attached a microfiber cloth to a swiffer stick. Used that to gently wipe off that overspray and it worked great.

LOL, I used to stand on the front tires and I'm 6'4" too. Now that my truck is low I can't fit my feet under the fenders, but good thing I don't have to.

I'm 6'3" and have the same problem. I haven't even leveled or lifted my truck yet. I feel like I'm going to need a full ladder to wax this thing when it's lifted.

I've always had good luck opening the door and standing in the floor and reaching around the pillar onto the hood. I also carry a step ladder to work in the engine bay however.

Matt be extremely careful. My brother was cleaning his truck this way and slipped. Got his arm jammed between the door and door frame... Breaking it in 2 spots!!

I can JUST barely reach that spot when waxing, and my front end went doen 1/2" when I lowered the rear 2".
I do admit to using a step stool when refilling the engine with fresh oil after a change.

I use the side step and the mirror to step up onto the top of the front tire. Then I can reach this area.

When washing the truck I have a extendable pole with a microfiber mitt on the end. Works fantastic to reach the entire truck.

Cleaning big trucks sucks. I stand on the tires to clean the center of the hood and windshield and stand in the door to clean the top of the cab.

Haha, I do the same thing and I am 6'7"!

Then I will open up the bed to get whatever spots I couldn't reach before on the roof as well.

Can't imagine having this truck with a 6" lift, would definitely need a ladder. Truck--> :nutkick: <-- me

Hell, I'm 6' even and have a hard time getting in the bed with the tailgate down. I'm on 35s with a 2" front lift and stock rear. I'm not sure how that compares to a 1500 with a lift kit but my fender height is about 42"/43" front and rear.

Ditto--have to stand in the bed to wax the roof.
