Hard shifting 68rfe

I have a 2021 diesel with the 68rfe transmission. Recently it began shifting hard, especially in the 1-2 shift or 5-6 shift. Any input or help on that would be appreciated.
Also, went to check transmission fluid to find a short dipstick. Asked the dealer about it and he checked my vin and told me my truck wasn't under the recall to get the longer dipstick! $75K for a truck and they give you a fake dipstick? WTF?

Usually problems show up in overdrive first, which is "normal" for rfe. When you have hard shift in first, you need to solve it. Check fluid, trans psi, check VB. Probably needs a service, so when you drop the pan take a 25 torx and drop the VB. You can see motor city mechanics page as well, this guy spells it out. I would wager a VB and solenoid and full fluid would like fix this.

When they replaced the trans dip stick in mine with a short one I told them I wanted a long one an not the short one, so when the long one became available they put the long one back in it, if they are unwilling to get you got 2 choices, you can get one at a salvage yard or buy a new one on line, I'm surprised you just found out about the short dip stick so I can only guess that have not checked you trans fluid in several years....

I also did as 06 did and got the full length stick. I also kept the original dipstick.
