Don't count on getting the high numbers being posted. 20 hwy and 15 around town is average for the Hemi.

Well on a plus side those gears would give over all better hwy mpg... and I want to say everyone on here has been very helpful.

Take it with a huge grain of salt. Unless you're really majority highway, the only thing the 3.21 yields is less shifting around town... My 3.92 truck nails advertised MPG from RAM, or better. My last long drive I actually saw 21.2-21.6 around 68-70mph average on a 600+ mile round trip, all highway. For what the truck is, I'll happily take that.

Dunno if it matters to you, but the 3.21 axle means the truck can't tow as much (per RAM's towing/hauling chart) as a 3.92 axle, which is degraded even more with the bigger tires (as you go up in tire size, it = less RPM per mile, which has the same effect as lowering the axle ratio). And obviously the 3.92 axle will provide faster acceleration compared to the 3.21 - all other things being equal.

I was lucky enough to drive two nearly identical Ram's, the ONLY difference being the axle ratio. And looking back, I'm glad I went with the 3.92. But that was applicable to me. My work commute is 0% highway. >50% of my *typical* non-work related driving is also not highway. I don't cater to minority things (no racism intended), so the 3.92 was far and away the better choice for me.
