The misfire code is what started the whole repair ordeal. After replacing the injectors and spark plugs the misfire was cleared he drove it a couple of days to make sure everything was good and was going to do a state inspection for it but when he went to do the misfire code came up and wouldn't clear off the computer. He told me to take it to a dealer to see if they could flash it since his scanner wouldn't clear it but other than that he said it ran a drove perfect. I went to pick it up had no lights on the dash showing anything wrong but it wasnt running right. As far as my mechanic he is a professional but he did it at his home shop since we've been friends since high school.
But these issues happened after he had it so I'm trying to figure out what's wrong so i can either fix it myself or just tell him what to replace

Do us a favor and ask your buddy what the misfire code was, if it is the p0300 range codes then you need to not throw good money after bad and address cam. I'd keep driving if possible to get a real good idea on what codes the truck is throwing, if indeed the other code is all you are getting then look at mds and ecm like he thought was. It is kinda hard when we get 1/2 a story, get a cheap scanner and mark the codes,, it will give you a correct path forward.

The original misfire code was p0308 since changing spark plugs and injectors that code has since gone away. The truck isn't safe to continue to drive with the current condition since it dies when turning the wheels to far left or right.

I did mention it in my first post. It doesn't seem to matter if it's hot or cold. If i turn it to the left or right it whines likes the power steering pump is empty and going out and the rpms jump up and down drastically and will kill itself and have to wait 5 to 10 minutes before it'll start back up, otherwise it'll just sit and spin the starter.

The codes are what we needed. I'd start the truck and get some good idling in, and some decent sustained rpm's, and see if it happens again and if so capture code. Basically mess around til you get another code. if you get the p0300 range code again it is likely the usual suspect, a wiped cam. maybe 10% or less with that code is something other then cam lob.

So i have a 2015 Power wagon with the 6.4 in it with 147k miles on it. I just replaced spark plugs and the injectors due to having a misfire in cylinder 8 and leaking injector. Now it can't go over 4k rpms it kills itself when i turn the wheels all the way left or right and won't turn back on for a few minute of sitting, it shakes while accelerating at low rpms. Anyone have any insight as the what would be going on? My mechanic thinks it might be the ecm, none of the dealerships in my area are trustworthy so I'm trying to figure this out without them. Any advice is appreciated
Ehh, sounds like a lobe worn down on the cam, due to a lifter failure.

So went ahead and replaced the mds solenoid it smoothed everything out made it sound like it should took it out for a test drive anything over 4k rpms it throws the cylinder 8 misfire code and starts running rough again. When the rpms drop back down it smooths out and runs right again.

Pull valve cover & inspect/compare #8 rockers/push rods to the others on that side to confirm bad lifter/cam lobe
