Firstly, hello from Welsh Wales (where there be dragons!)

I have a customer with 2 Rams, one 2010 and one 2012, and I'm trying to convert the rear lights to UK spec by using a Curt 2 to 3 wire box, which has done it's job, but not quite according to plan!

The problem I'm having is the hazard lights. When pushed, the hazard switch is flashing the rear stop lights and not the rear turn signals, and I can't seem to find a way to separate this.

Does anyone know if the BCM (or whatever Ram's designation) flashes the stop light feed by default or have I done something completely stupid?

Sounds like your customer might need a set of tail lights that have the stop & turn signal lights that are separate.

Running lights, stop & turn signals lights are all one bulb.

I would reach out to The Retroshop and see what they would recommend doing.

UK spec is separate brake and turn signals correct? And the turn signals are amber?

Thanks for the reply OC,

You're correct about the lights, I've used the Curt box to separate the stop and turn and used the stock reverse lights as turn signals with amber bulbs in (at 5W causing the speed issue), but it's the hazards flashing the stop lights instead of them that's causing the problem.

I think it would.be a better route to.contact one of the guys from The Retroshop and see if they have a suggestion to make it work better instead of using the backup lights as turn signals. There' is ECM management in there that might cause a lot more headaches than solutions for you. Maybe contact your customer and see if using an aftermarket set of clear tails with LEDs that can be used for the separate turn/hazard and brake lights would be a better option. The Retroshoo has done some nice mods on tail lights for these trucks

What about pulling the left, right, signal from the 7pin trailer harness? Curt makes an in-line T-adaptor that goes behind the bumper and attaches on the backside of the 7pin trailer harness.

I needed to grab running and turn signals for my project. Was pulling my hair out trying to overcome the bulb out warnings and flickering of my LED bulbs due to the BCM sending pulsed power through the system. Last ditch effort I tested it using the trailer harness and I had zero problems and 100% success.

I was going suggest maybe using a LED light bar for the back with amber turn signals, but I don't know if UK or European standards would allow something like that because.it isnt actually in the tail light assembly...
