My truck is a 2017 Sport. I'm old & old school. The 5.7L hemi badge has always bothered me. I like to advertise my engine size in cubic inches. Additionally, I like the RAM badge placement on the new trucks. So...I rebadged my truck. I plan on pinstriping the truck in neon orange, just like my old 2012. You'll notice in the pictures, I swapped the grill for the honeycomb. I have new grill & tailgate badges, basic with "hemi" in orange. Additionally, I added Alpha Rex headlights with amber (orange) running lights. Also added amber (orange) hood vent lights.
My 2012 pinstriping was done with 3M tape. It faded after some time, so I'm painting the stripes with a UV resistant neon orange on the 2017. Future projects include lowering the front 1" to 2" to give it a mean stance. I have an idea to mount a NASCAR style spoiler to the tailgate, that still allows the plastic cap to be in place. And, I want to get rid of the whip antenna. The new rams don't have them. My understanding is, the new RAM's radio + satallite signals, both come from the shark fin antenna. I see no reason why the new antennas can't be swapped out on the older trucks. I have a custom shop near me, that can plug the fender antenna hole. If anyone has any info on the antenna swap, I'd love to hear it. The other input I'm seeking is...should I leave the "345" black, or paint it orange to go with the pinstriping and grill/tailgate badges?
