Hey guys i just picked up a 03 1500 and I have a question... I went outside today, started it up and ran it for a little bit and everything seems fine...when I got out and went to the front of the truck the ground looked like there was spilt oil.. I kept the truck running and climbed underneath it.. every drip I saw I caught with my hand and tasted it and everything tastes like water (just recently snowed here) not to sure what the problem is... if anyone has any insight let me know

Well obviously it wasn't oil or else it would have been slippery.

If your car is leaking water, then your engine's cooling system is most likely the culprit.

Your cooling system is the most common leak source because it is a pressurized system.

The high pressure can force coolant out even the smallest of leaks.

Or it may have been condensation that, as it heated up, started dripping off parts from under the truck.

I’m thinking your right because there has never been any fluid marks before and yesterday we got a little bit of snow so that would explain the condensation.....the only thing that worried me was the oil looking colors.....I parked on top of a piece of cardboard overnight and when I checked this morning there was no spill

I have an 03 too, keep an eye on the temperature gauge. If you see it climb just past the halfway or slightly higher mark and still climbing it's starting to over heat and shut it off immediately! Overheating this year truck (I'm sure all) can cause catastrophic and expensive damage. Ask me how I know. However, I got lucky and killed mine the second it started to rise due to a failed radiator. I have a (good) habit of constantly looking at the temp gauge though.

Are you sure that it wasn’t just water dripping from the AC condensor...? When the A/C is set to defrost, the condensor is turned on to wick moisture out of the air before pushing it out, even when set to hot. Not sure if it stays on in other positions when on heat though.

Yea I’m thinking it was something like this....had the cardboard under it for over 24hrs and not a spot on it
