800 seems kind of high, but if that is what it takes to get it to stop stalling then that is what you should do. Just play around with it until you find a spot where it will idle at stops without stalling.

I upped mine to 900 and it stopped stalling, with the latest tune from sean its at 750-780 and running good (700-750 is where he says most people with my cam have it set). Pulling fuel at idle is really what made it actually run right

It stopped the stalling on mine bumping the idle, but if it is surging like mine was, it will still do that even with the bumped up idle.

Ok, Im sorry I just stepped into this on page 48 and don't have time to read from post 1. I work at a dodge dealer and worked at a performance shop when I was in mechanic school. have done maybe a dozen cam swaps.
the sidewinder is a very mild cam, not a very big bump from stock - and prolly not worth the work and expense for the little improvement. but anyway, I have seen this cam pulled off with just the stock tune, so the tune is not your problem.

what are the trucks symptoms?

The Sidewinder is an excellent cam that gives great results, some of the fastest Hemi trucks out run this cam or ones like it. Agreed though his problem now is more then likely tune or can be fixed by tuning.

I didn't mean to ruffle feathers, it's not a bad cam. We've put more than one Hemi truck on the track though and they weren't running this cam. A lot of people do like the sidewinder though. I guess I should have said that if I were going to do a cam swap I'd go a little more aggressive.

My point is that it's not very aggressive and doesn't require a custom tune. Although not recommended, I've seen this cam run fine on a stock PCM tune was the point I was trying to bring across.

Is a boy I work with at the dealership runs a Comp 260 in his truck, very similar cam with only a superchips and I think it's even the older one that you can't update on the internet and he runs fine.

Anyway, Silverbullet08, if you come to a stop and brake with your left foot and kept giving it a little gas with your right foot, no problems? How high do you have to keep idle before it stalls? Will it still stall if your A/C is on?
