Well now that I'm back to work and my wife will be soon (had some medical issues set us back), I'm looking into lifting my truck in the future! Might not be for another year, but never hurts to start shopping early!

So I will probably keep the same tires for now which are 295's and get black 20" aftermarket wheels which will probably come before the lift. So I'm thinking of a 4" suspension kit so the 295's don't seem to small. Also if it comes time to change tires true 35x12.50 won't seem small either. So I'm torn between rcx, zone and skyjacker! I know I want to do bilsteins to level it, since my leveling spacers will have to be removed. I'm leaning towards zone, but rcx is a bit cheaper. But I've also heard it's a bit cheaper made! Opinions please! Would this set up look good!? It'll pretty much look like my old truck but with a suspension lift instead of a body lift!

Rcx makes a great product for the price. Tons of people use them with happy results

I've just heard mixed reviews, but rcx is a few hundred dollars cheaper and that difference will pay for the bilsteins.

Here's my current set up for reference..2.5" level with 295's, just looks a little stuffed.

I'll throw a vote out there for Zone . . . I've had no problems, it aligned perfect, even with the Bilsteins set at 0.7", and the 4" stance with 35's is perfect

BDS or ICON

I got a BDS 6in lift with fox coilovers. It's not exactly a full 6 though, its more of a 5in lift with a very smooth ride. I love my lift, I'm actually thinking about raising it another 1-2inches. Most likely a 2 in in the rear and 1 in the front.

As far as something very basic but incredible quality look into Icon suspension. Its not necessarily a 4in lift, its a 3in Level suspension all the way around and have the option of getting the upper control A-Arm (Highly Recommended). A 3in Suspension Level will give you the ability to add 35x12.5s. I liked mine when I had just a level, but I needed more travel because I drive offroad ALOT for Work.

Good Luck

So I guess rcx isn't as bad as I thought...maybe I need to look at them a bit more.

Hey OP,

I have the same issue, i'm looking to lift in the spring and i'm trying to do my homework now but its driving me a bit crazy with what to do. I was quoted from a local shop for a 6" RCX lift vs a 6" Fabtech Lift. Looking to put on 20s with 35s as well.

I keep reading a lot of mixed reviews on the RCX. I would like to go that route, since the price is less, and i don't do any offroading to utilize more expensive kits.

Anyway, it be nice to share some information with what you find. I'm going nuts reading all the different stuff, lol !

I went back and fourth whether to do the RCX lift. On another ram forum there was a few members that had real ****** lucky with RCX, from rear end shudder to failure to keep alignment to 4wd vibration. This was concerning to me for two main reasons, I'm still making payments on my truck and there is nothing worse than making payments when you're not happy with your vehicle. The second reason, you chop of a section of your diff bracket, reverting back to stock can be done but is a little tougher.

It was not possible for me to search and read reviews anymore, I had spent countless hours on the internet. I decided to just order the damn thing and be done with it! I had an appointment to get a 2 way starter put in and I asked the guy working if it could be done by noon or earlier as I was installing a lift immediately. We got chatting and his prior job was working at an off-road shop. He was shotgun sure I was going to have that dreaded rear end shudder and 4wd vibration. At that point I was already prepared for some issue to arise, but take it as it comes.

Lift went on without a hitch, everything fit and I've had NO issues to date. No vibration in 2wd or 4wd, no shudder, rides excellent. So happy I went for it.

I take the RCX criticism with a grain of salt. I believe there are more of the RCX kits installed, therefore there will be more comments. In AZ, RCX is very popular, I had it leveling a CC Chevy and lifting a Jeep Rubicon. Never had a issue.

This is kind of the look I'm going for, minus the 1.25" body lift he has on top of the 6" lift. But if it's not level after the 6" lift, I'll do bilsteins. I'll just run my current wheel and tire set up for now and then when I need new tires I'll upgrade to 35x12.50 and new wheels.
