I am looking to retire next year and want to buy a 5th wheel toy hauler and become a snowbird i Arizona from November through the middle of April.
I figure the toy hauler will be around 15 000 lbs or so. The specs I have been looking at point towards a HO cummins club cab dually. It may be overkill but I would rather have to much capability than too little.
Any opinions?

A crew cab dually with the HO Cummins will work awesome for long distance hauling. A long bed will make the hitch choice easier because you won't have to worry about using a sliding hitch. Short bed may be more maneuverable but then getting a slider hitch is something you'd have to decide on.

Then all the creature comforts you'd want....

A nice up optioned Tradesman crew cab dually long bed with the HO Cummins up my way was going for $55k.

The Tradesman is what i was thinking about. I would love to have all the creature comforts of a Laramie but am trying to keep the price below $65k. I know a long bed dually will be a bear to park or drive around town but it seems to be the best choice.

If you stay in one place for a while. I grocery getter could be a good investment. Plus some of the 5th wheels are outfitted to pull a tow bar. Could make running around easier when settled in.

I plan to take at least one motorcycle with me...at this point, it might be a 3 wheeler. I said I would never give in to that but age has a way of smacking you with a dose of reality:(

How about the final drive ratio? Would 3.73's get the job done or just go with 4.10'S

4.10's would be what I would go to for towing. 4.10''s will give you more towing ability. Just the way they rate them.

There's a 2020 Tradesman, crew cab, dually long bed, VIN: 3C63RRGL1LG234047

It doesn't have the HO Cummins, but it's cargo & towing is up there. Cargo capacity: 5809.25lbs Towing: 22109.25lbs.

$58,405...maybe work it out and get a better deal....has the 3.73's and some nice upgrades from what I can tell.

New 2020 Ram 3500 Tradesman Dually Truck Crew Cab LB For Sale | Middletown RI | Serving Middletown Newport Bristol County in Rhode Island (newportchryslerdodgejeep.com)

Looks good, has a 4.10 rear. The only thing missing that I would like would be the gooseneck/5th prep package.

Yeah, missed that one. You could get the pucks and get them installed, but, easier if it's done at the manufacturer before you get it.

Make sure you order the 50 gallon fuel tank. Only about 300 dollar option on the long bed.
