Honestly you may get more help in the 4th generation forum. But for me I would do the 2018 BigHorn.

Yes it is brand new...the used dealer gave me a price of $10800 for my 2005 tundra limited with 89k on it...guess I better see what the new dealer would give me...but assuming the same...a loaded out used (but is 15,000 miles really used?) vs a new...the warranty is something to think about.

Buy the Laramie, Pop the money for the lifetime warranty and enjoy a much nicer truck for many years.
I had a Big Horn before I bought the Longhorn, I have now and I would never even consider going back down to a Big Horn.

It depends, I had a 14 hemi big horn and now a 17 laramie

The laramie is much nicer equipped, but I have a issue with it being a nicer trim - like my dog doesnt sit in the cab anymore, he was all up in the cab on the bighorn (hes a golden retriever mix) so he has big claws that ripped up my bighorn cloth seats.

He now sits in the bed and hates it, he loved being on the middle seat of the front row or by the tranny hump.

Also Big Horns got alotta upgrades from 17-18, like my 17 laramie does not have remote start or LED bed lighting and some other thing that was already standard on the Bighorn. Weird right....

I got the laramie because the price was ridiculous, 35k for a brand new 17 crewcab 4x4... yea take my $$$$

35k for a brand new 17k Laramie? Wow...with the incentives they are doing to sell new ones, you would think the used would be a little less money. Please keep the replies coming...I am really torn as to what to do.

I got 18k off msrp, had I waited 2 more months, same dealer let his remaining similarly equipped trucks go for 20k off msrp. I could have driven my 14 with like 50k miles for 2 more months and save 2k!!!!! Fml oh well

Kinda like new TVs, buy one and dont lookat the prices anymore, in a few months the price just drops for the next new and awesome thing.

That's not much difference for a brand new 2018 truck especially if you can squeeze it another $1k off them (reasonable) and the bighorns are usually well equipped.

If you really want the 16 it's possible to add the 18 Android auto radio (UAQ or UAS) but it will likely set you back about $1500.

Plus as a reference, you can get the factory Maxcare Lifetime Warranty w/$100 deductable for right at $3k on the 18 Ram from online places like Ziegler, ChryslerWarrantyDirect (under 12k miles) & the 16 ram will be a bit higher.

M² Mods.

Spent all day at the dealerships. The 16 laramie (15k miles) vs the new bighorn. New dealer came down $1k by adding $1k to my trade so the difference on all the was $23,808 and $25,000. The 16 has a year and 20,000 miles left on the warranty and so much more:
32 gal tank, 3.92, anti spin diff rear axle, built in trailer brake control, spray in bedliner, tonnue cover engine block heater parksense front rear plus all the laramie equipment like leather, heated cooled front seats, heated back seats, alpine stereo etc

For a grand less (pays the sales tax) I get so much more truck. Can I add factory remote start to it easily?

I had factory remote start added to my 2015 Tradesman when I got it. If I recall it was around $600 CAD installed by the dealer. As a bonus, you get 2 more keyfobs.

You referenced in your initial post that the 2018 Big Horn you're looking at had 3.92 and remote start. In this situation I would go for the Big Horn. While not completely equipped like a Laramie, having a new Big Horn, which is still nicely equipped, and knowing its service history, how it was driven, and having the additional warranty are all things that come in to play IMO.

Again my vote is with and for the 2018 BigHorn with a full on warranty and the history with it will be whatever you make of it.
