Ive been having trouble with my 6" lift for a while, it seems as if the coils are too small for the lift, but they actually arent! they are the correct size but i stilly have no idea what could be the problem. Heres a bunch of pictures!

It looks as if the one coils actually arched, and basically the coils are very very loose in there, i jacked it up yesterday and with the tire still on the ground i was able to pull the coil out by hand with a little bit of effort... also they rattle and make noise while im driving.

Now i emailed these to BDS and they are going to get back to me! but i was wondering if you guys had any ideas, because im impatient haha :D, why are my coils so loose!!!

My rear coils from my 6" RCX lift are also similarly arched...

I've never done a lift kit, but from the last picture it almost looks like it's in the wrong area or you're missing the rubber fitting that goes between the spring and body. I could be wrong, but I believe the top is suppose to go bare against the frame

I will shoot a few shots of my truck tomorrow in the daylight (Zone offroad 6") they seem to be almost identical. I am not sure what the issue is but I'll take a look underneath and get back to you. Hopefully somebody else can chime in.

I think the problem is that with your lift the rear axle is too far forward. I can see it in the side shot and the springs aren't in line with the frame and axle. Looks like you need to relocate the arms to center the axle.

There is definitely the rubber spacer between the spring and the body, but that goes up top, theres no rubber spacer or anything on the bottom though, and there never was :/

Anything you can take a pic of would be awesome TheStig!

And thats really strange that a coil would have an arch in it! cant be how its supposed to be hey?

Thats where some adjustable control arms would be useful i think hey?

I don't think they make any for our trucks do they? That's the one thing I don't like is the lack of aftermarket support for these 4th gen axles, especially 2012+

Ive looked for em before and spohn actually sells em. 750 bucks about for adjustable upper, lower and track bar for our trucks.

If only they painted them in blue! haha

i dont know if this would solve the problem though, although that would make sense to me on the curved coil

Yah I would think either control arm or track bar..

I can add that to my list of $400-800 UCA's and $800 tie rods for the front end..

Adjustable control arms would be perfect. Track bar would make sure it's centered side to side. Surprised that they don't relocate the controls with the kit. Obviously it doesn't keep it. centered in the wheel well. But now if you move the axle back with the lift wouldn't you need a bigger spacer in the driveshaft?

It's a heavy duty tie rod.. Not sure what yours looks like, check out the ready lift one and let me know if it looks like yours..

Also I was just looking at spohn parts for our trucks. Looks like adjustable control arms as well as an adjustable panhard bar is what we are looking for. Right around 700 for the full setup..

My RCX kit came with new fixed control arms, but used the stock mounts

You know.. thats a good question, I know lowered guys often use em, and guys with stock trucks do, ive never even thought about the drive shaft, i dont know if they normally do them?

Just looking at em now, they look alot more beefy then anything i have definitely. And the monster price tag to come with it :O

Yep 700 for the full setup plus some shipping to me in the northern buts it at around 850 :/ Only question is would this actually solve my specific issue and would it require a longer drive shaft spacer!

Hmm.. My lift only came with a front driveshaft spacer, nothing for the rear.. I know that when jeep people do anything 4" or more on their JK's, they go with new drive shafts.. This sounds like it's getting pricy!

Haha actually you are correct there is no spacer for the rear! I've already had to replace both transfer case seals. And the out put wasn't covered because of my lift!

Do you think we would need to add something to the rear driveshaft in order to run adj control arms?
